The founding and Initial Design of CMD (Oct. 2023)
The company was founded to address daily mobility barriers for wheelchair users. Our goals, objectives, and constraints included overcoming obstacles like stairs, bumps, and unpaved surfaces. Prioritizing all-weather operability, travel-friendly collapsibility, user safety, and affordability, we explored solutions such as exoskeletons, redesigned wheelchairs, and attachments, selecting essential components for optimal device operation
Initial Design Analysis
(Nov. - Dec. 2023)
(Nov. - Dec. 2023)
Conducted a comprehensive engineering analysis and designed each of the wheelchair components. The focus then shifted to seamlessly integrating the different elements of the wheelchair together such as the powertrain, chassis, suspension, stair climbing and self-balancing. Part ordering of all the components.
Initial Build (Jan. 2024)
Part arrival for the initial build of the wheelchair. Assembly of individual systems followed by individualized system testing ensuring components operated and met our stringent functionality standards
Continuous Improvement (Feb. 2024)
The beginning of the iterative design and manufacturing process. Focus on refining each component to further meet our companies’ standards. Rigorous testing and validation cycles to guarantee reliability and customer safety and satisfaction.
CMD Prototype Release Date (Mar. 2024)
Final touches to the first prototype, culminating in a final round of testing and validation. A symposium will be held to showcase CMD’s innovation and capabilities of our companies debut product.
